Gro-Eco, Leading Water Conservation Grower, Announces Two New
Board Directors
MADISON, FL- July 31, 2008
- Gro-Eco Holding announced the addition of
David A. Perdue, Jr. and Robert Ferguson to its
Board of Directors. Gro-Eco, owner of wholesale
grower Fraleigh Nursery, holds the patent for
the award-winning Gro-Eco Growing System, which
reduces water usage by 80 percent and
significantly reduces chemical soil
contamination, a problem that has plagued the
agriculture industry for years.

Fraleigh, the company's founder and CEO. "The
vision and leadership of our Board of Directors
provides us the experience we need to better
serve our customers during our aggressive
expansion plans to independent garden centers
and national retailers."
David A. Perdue, Jr. of
Nashville, Tn., is former Chairman and CEO of Dollar
General, Chair of the National Commission on Adult
Literacy and former executive of numerous consumer
product companies both domestically and
internationally. Perdue provides Gro-Eco with
tremendous retail insight on consumer driven
products and guidance on how to better serve our
retail partners.
Robert Ferguson of Houston, Tx., is CEO of Wurzberg, Inc, a packaging and
printing distribution company and former President
and CEO of Hines Horticulture, the largest
commercial nursery in the U.S. Ferguson is also
President of Curing Children's Cancer Fund. Ferguson
brings thirty years of industry experience to Gro-Eco.
Perdue and Ferguson joined the
following Board members:
Campbell B. Lanier, III of West
Point, Ga., is Chairman of ITC Holding Company and
has been Chairman and CEO of numerous public and
private companies throughout the Southeast. Lanier
has a track record of success investing in small
entrepreneurs with unique ideas within their
industry and providing them the funding and
experience necessary to become industry leaders.
R.A. (Rusty) Griffin, Jr. of
Valdosta, GA., is the former Chairman and CEO of
Griffin LLC (a joint venture with DuPont) a
manufacturer of crop protection and specialty
chemicals which operated globally. Griffin serves on
several For-Profit and Not-For-Profit Boards and
offers Gro-Eco both successful business experience
and local consultation.
Donald W. Burton of Tampa, Fl., is Managing General Partner of Burton Partnership.
Burton is a seasoned venture investor and serves on
several Boards in both public and private companies
providing Gro-Eco substantial cross-industry
experience and knowledge.
Dave Hutsell of Valdosta, Fl.,
VP of Sales, is a graduate of Texas Tech
University with more than three decades of
experience in the nursery business, including
national experience in sales and management.
James "Jay" L. Fraleigh of
Madison, Fl., CEO, is a sixth
generation farmer with over 20 years of industry
experience. With a desire to incorporate
eco-friendly practices into family farm, Jay
returned to the family farm and developed what is
now the patented Gro-Eco Growing System.
Gro-Eco Holding, LLC, owner of
Fraleigh Nursery, LLC, was awarded the Environmental
Leadership Award 2007 by Florida's Department of
Agriculture.
